Nov. 13 - 17

It was so nice seeing some families at Bingo Night!  It’s always fun to see the kids in a different environment—we have some hard core bingo players out there!

Be sure to check your child's planner page each night.  We are working on reflecting each day with a picture or some words on how they are meeting their goal.  Last week it was listening, this week it will be following directions quickly (two of our class rules the kids came up with!). Also, the students should be writing each night if they have homework or not.  Last week it was a bit crazy with two substitute days, but it should be back to normal this week.

This week we will dive into a new reading comprehension strategy, analyzing characters. Our reading program focuses on a single strategy for three weeks at a time so kids get lots of practice with it.  We’ll read mostly fiction stories over the next few weeks to practice.  Kids can work on this at home too by telling you about the characters in what they’re reading.
