Oct 23-27

You might have heard your first grader talk about how we started “flex” groups. This is a time each day where students move to another teacher to get a chance to practice reading skills at their level.  Our entire grade level “flexes” for thirty minutes.  These groups are very fluid and flexible based on student data, so a student might work with one  teacher for a few weeks and then move for the next few to another based on student need.  This is a great chance for all first graders to get just what they need to be successful in reading!

Don't forget to keep reading at home and working on that math homework Monday-Thursday!

Reading targets: main idea and detail
Writing targets: alphabet
Phonics: l clusters like blob and slop
Math targets: change stories (some more and some less)

Theme: Science - liquids and solids

Wednesday - music
Thursday - gym & library
