Dec 11-15

Well winter is definitely here!  It’s also the time of year when first graders learn some tough lessons with responsibility and their winter gear.  We’ve already lost some gloves and boots.  We work each day on putting our mittens, hats, and scarves in the sleeve of our jacket.  Then we put our jacket in our locker.  Even with their own lockets, this helps keep their items together.  Also, please remember to label your child’s winter gear so it can easily be returned if it finds it way down the hallway. Thanks for your help!

We're back on track for math homework each Monday-Thursday night.  I am piloting a new math program with first graders this year so we've been trying to balance days with whole group lessons, math stations, and explorations during our math time.  The homework just wasn't quite lining up, but we think we've got it figured out now so look for "math hw" each night during the week.
