Dec. 4-8

Hello families!  One of our first grade social studies standards is learning about a variety of holidays.  While the state gives us suggestions of ones to cover, we like to take the time throughout the month to learn about holidays around the world and from various cultures. If there are special holidays you celebrate, we would love to know about it!  Feel free to send me a note or e-mail and we will make sure we cover it in school.  We spend a lot of time talking about windows (looking at someone else’s holiday) and mirrors (seeing our own) to frame our welcoming and appreciative discussions so kids are always eager to share!

Look for report cards going home this Wednesday.  While there is a lot of information included with the report cards, feel free to contact me with any questions or clarification.  Thanks!
